Tips for relaxation

When everything feels like it's getting a bit too much, take time out of your day to just breathe.
First, move away from your work space and stand or sit in a quiet place where you can turn off all distractions.
Relax your hands either in prayer style or resting in your lap
Relax and pull back your shoulders and straighten your back
Hold your head high
Close your eyes and focus on your breathing
Breathe through your nose for a count of 5 and fill your lungs
hold for a count of 5
Breathe out slowly through your mouth for a count of 5
Repeat 5 times

I'm lucky enough to have a garden with a view and, weather permitting, this is where I take time to breathe and re-focus. Although this can be distracting in it's own way, red kites flying above are too majestic and beautiful to ignore, bees buzzing past your face and wood pigeons flirting outrageously, only to be completely ignored..However, just taking time out to take it all in is relaxing in itself.
